Automotive Bumper | Siemens UG NX | Plastic Domain Design This Automotive Bumper was designed in Siemens UG NX using the Plastic Domain workflow. The design process began with the given Class-A surface, which was validated for surface quality and continuity. A proper tooling axis was created based on draft analysis, and using this reference, Class-B and Class-C surfaces were generated to achieve the required wall thickness and smooth connectivity. These surfaces were then combined into a closed volume, ensuring solid conversion. A detailed draft analysis was carried out to confirm tooling feasibility, and a parting line was defined for mold separation. The project demonstrates my ability to apply plastic product design standards in Siemens NX to create tooling-feasible exterior trim components such as bumpers. 🔹 Design Considerations Maintained uniform wall thickness for injection molding. Applied correct draft angles for mold release. Ensured Class-A to B and C surface connectivity with smooth transitions. Created tooling axis and parting line for manufacturability. Converted surfaces into a closed volume to validate the solid model. 🔹 Skills Demonstrated A, B, and C Surface Modeling in Siemens UG NX Tooling Axis Creation Draft Analysis for Mold Feasibility Parting Line Development Closed Volume Solid Creation Plastic Product Design Standards Automotive Exterior Trim Design
