I have a 1925 Burroughs Class 5 Mechanical Calculator. It’s yet another vintage mechanical calculator to add to my collection. When I first got it it had some stiff limited function but quickly locked up after a few operations. As just about always with these old machines the only real root problem is simply the oil drying out and sticking up the works. Most of the time simply oiling and gently working the parts to get new fresh oil into the moving surfaces and dissolving the old oil will get things going again. There are times were disassembly is simply necessary to get the moving surfaces free of being so hopelessly seized.

I printed some simple key caps to replace some missing ones. There made in 2 parts and glued together. The keys alternate between shallow and deep indents to help indicate were the operators finger tips are at.
