Butter Dish

Butter dish for standard Canadian 1lb of Butter. (65mm x 65mm x 135mm)

I don't like the standard low profile butter dish, with a deep lid to go over it. On a hot summer day, if you leave the butter out, it melts and ends up all over the kitchen counter.

Worse yet, it seems like everyone makes their butter dishes to fit only 2/3 of the height of a 1lb block of butter. The butter gets squished into the inside of the lid. Why? WHY?

This deep dish holds 1lb of butter. And, if it melts on a hot day (or because it's too close to the coffee maker. oops) it'll remain contained.

It also stays cleaner because you don't have to carefully maneuver the lid over the dish without bumping the butter. Just drop the lid on without worrying about hitting the butter.

The only use I can see for the "Standard" butter dish is when you're having corn-on-the-cob. But we use a brush to apply butter to corn-on-the-cob in our household, so this deep dish will do just fine.
