The C-Beam fabricator is a medium to large format 3D printer, designed entirely around OpenBuilds C-Beam extrusions for simplicity, elegance and structural stability. I've attached a build plate design of 450mm x 450mm, but this can be sized to requirements, as indeed could the whole project by simply adding required lengths of c-beam extrusion!
N.B I started the design with using the OpenBuilds gantry plates (3mm aluminium) but modified them to my own requirements and printed them out.
Most plates were printed from PLA at 200 degrees c. with 25% infill, they seem plenty tough enough.
I've now been operating the 'C-Beam FAB' in anger for about a week now and things are going well. I'm more versed in CAD than Gdode, so I've had to brush up on my codes! I've calibrated the bed, hotend & XYZ axis and so far it's performing well!
