Design intent was to obtain an adjustable mount for the Logitech C920 webcam in order to watch my 3d printer remotely. Because different prints required different fields of view for optimal watching, I needed ways to have different levels of zoom in and out, angle adjustment, rotation left or right, or height adjustment up and down.
I did not want the webcam mount attached to the printer - to avoid vibration in the view. The solution here is what I developed to mount to the closet door that the printer works in. I can simply loosen the 3 screws to adjust height, rotation, and zoom field of view. The camera itself has an adjustable arm up and down, with a forward and backward tilting head.
Because of the constant loosening and tightening of the screws I opted to use heat inserts for plastic from McMaster Carr. Heat inserts are little brass inserts heated up with a standard soldering iron and sunk into the designed tapered hole. I've attached a pdf of design specs for a random siz
