Calorimeter

This is a calorimeter I have put together for measuring electrical energy from the heat it produces. More information to come in June when a paper is written, as the method of measurement is important to keep accuracy to 2-6%.

The covering is made from the window reflector you put in a car windscreen to keep out the heat, and the base is lined with felt, so less air escapes via the wires when heated. This could be replaced with rubber, but you would need dedicated holes for the wires.

Keeping the heating element on the bottom of the cup helps accuracy, no need for the propeller if this is done. I made the heating element by winding nichrome wire around an m10 bolt, 10 ohms will fit the bottom of the cup nicely.

The thermometer hole is 6mm
