The "52mm Camera Lens Cap" by powermos seems to be the best lens cap on Thingiverse. I only have two issues with it:
a. It requires supports for printing which are a bit tricky to remove.
b. The cap does not stay on well since it does not have threads.
This remix aims at fixing both of these issues.
The design can easily be scaled to other sizes (e.g. 49mm or 55mm). Just make sure you scale in X and Y, but not in Z, so as to maintain the thread pitch.
All parts should print readily without support in common materials. To make the threads more accurate, it is advisable to print at least the spring part with layer height 0.1mm or less.
The friction fit might be a bit weak, so do make sure you fix the front and rear pieces together with a few dabs of glue in the mounting holes so they do not come apart.
The 52mm_cap_spring_std.stl is for those who may want to use the original design, but want the threads that provides better grip.
