I recently picked up a MantisX and for a while I had it mounted to the Pic Rail of my firearm. Unfortunately I decided to add a light and removing the light to install the Mantis became tedious. Now you should know Mantis sells a nice little accessory kit for $10 that would allow you to install it on the bottom of your mag with decent tape. I would have done that but the bottom of my mags have a locking pin that protrudes so the tape, baseplate, and adaptor would never make good contact. Also given how the Mantis works I wanted to make sure the approach would be as accurate as possible and I just didn't think I could hand place it with tape and have it be straight enough. So I decided to make a custom baseplate with a picatinny module molded directly on to it. This is how it turned out.The model depicted was made with ABS as I use mine in dryfire and live fire situations and I wanted to make sure it would survive the tornado in my range bag. This base plate will work on all the TP9
