Catan Magnet Cap

This is a simple cap that fits over the cavities in the original catan hex models uploaded my Mystik738. As stated in the original files, this works with 5mm spherical magnets. This file includes 12 caps (enough for one hex tile).

To install the cap, first insert a spherical magnet into one of the cavities. Next snap one of the caps over the magnet. If the cap does not fit properly, simply sand or Dremel out the inside wall of the cavity until the cap fits properly.

Next check that the magnet can spin freely by using another magnet and attaching it to the outside of the hex. Flip the polarities on the exterior magnet. If the magnet sticks in both orientations (+ & -), then your magnet is freely moving inside the cavity. If you feel the magnet repel on one of the poles, you may need to Dremel slightly deeper to gain the clarence needed for the magnet.
