This object was made in Tinkercad. Edit it online https://www.tinkercad.com/things/kwkf8prplU5
This intended for a physics demonstration/lab showing the diffraction pattern from a laser light on a CD or DVD. First and second order diffraction spots (arcs) are apparent with a CD and a red laser pointer (650 nm). Because of the smaller spacing of the tracks on a DVD, only the first order spots are produced. The angle between the spots from the DVD is large. Precise measurement of the angles makes it possible to precisely determine the track spacing.
The slot and rod attachment are designed for a 1/4"-20 screw and nut.
