Many thanks to the Celt-X for the original design. Team 4918, the Roboctopi, have made a few modifications to suit our needs. The following remixes were quick 'n dirty hacks in TinkerCAD, using the STL file uploaded by Celt-X.
Team 4918 used Celt-X's design in seasons 2018 and 2019. It was our experience that the press-to-fit design would eventually crack at the points where pressure was applied to fit the parts together. We used PLA, so a different material may have held up better, but Celt-X's design deserves a lot of credit, because the design remained fully functional throughout the season even after these cracks occurred.
There are currently 3 versions of the modified design. The first has been tested. At the time of this posting, 2 and 3 have not yet been tested, because the team's shop is now closed for the holidays.
