Checkered frontstrap for 1911s. It's my understanding that different manufacturers mill slightly different radii, so this may fit straight away or may require some fitting.

If you decide it needs fitting, because of how thin some sections of the part are, I recommend fitting using the hot water method:

1. Remove the grip panels from your 1911.

2. Heat some water in a coffee cup (in a microwave, for example)

3. Dunk the part in for a second or two, until the material softens.

4. GENTLY press and form the material around your 1911's frontstrap. It will cool and harden in a few seconds.

Afterwards, use a thin double-sided tape on the inside of frontstrap portion only, to keep it where it needs to be. The side tabs loop around your lower grip screw bushings. Don't put tape on these or it will create an unnecessarily thick gap between your frame and grips.

The result is an aggressively textured frontstrap that will help control recoil.
