Cherry tomato slicer

This is a little helper I made for the #CountertopChallenge.

I love cherry tomatos, they are so delicious. But slicing a lot of them and cutting out the stalk can be a time taking duty.

So here is my solution. Place up to 16 cherry tomatos with the stalk facing upward into the lower tray. As you close the upper cover, you may notice that the hinge allows some degree of freedom. Enough to hold bigger or smaller cherry tomatos in place. Now take a sharp knife and cut the stalks out. Align the knife either to the right and left face of the v shaped notch. Finally slice all the tomatos with one horizontal cut right between the lower and upper part of my device.

I printed these parts with XT-Copolymer from Colorfabb. This filament is temperature stable up to 75°C, so my cherry tomato slicer goes right into the dishwasher after use. And furthermore it*s approved by the FDA as foodsafe.
