Chevy Bolt EV Cargo Cover Hook Insert

Apparently lots of Chevrolet Bolt EV owners, such a me, have had trouble with the little Cargo Cover Hook Inserts. These mount to the side in a simple twist lock fashion and tend to fall out. Mine being no exception, one managed to disappear all together. So rather than wait for the other Hook Insert to go AOL I got to reverse engineering the specimen with the intent 3D print replacement that will stay put. My 3D printed version came out very nicely. The part needed the very gentle help of needle nose pliers to nudge them into their final locking place.

After some use I found the original copy design of the ball hook didn’t tend to hold the loop any better than the originals that came with the car. So I came up with a new version that is a classical hook design. These hold the loop very reliably.

Hot summer heating though caused the original PLA versions to finally warp too much to work anymore. So a new set printed in ABS should hold up to the summer hot car issues. I d
