Every once in awhile, a chick hatches with curled toes. the current standard method is to use tape and/or carboard to help flatten the toes, but that only works vertically, and toes can still end up twisted horizontally. This implement is just wide enough for the toes, making sure they stand upright, just as a taco holder would cradle a delicious corn flour hammock of tasty... i digress..
To use it, first tape the bottom up with something quite sticky, I used a cloth plaster. then slip the chick's feet and toes into the grooves, making sure they aren't curled, of course. finish up by taping over the top as well to effectively sandwich those toes in there. try not to tape up the ankle as well otherwise it wont be able to stand/walk/hobble around. when removing, the top should come off easily, if the bottom does, a dab of cooking oil will help release the plastic. congrats! your chick is now a duckling.
turn your duckling back into a chick (by removing the printed part) every 24
