Clock extension Tubes

These tubes were designed to extend the shaft of a model DW 1688 clock mechanism. The DW 1688 is the longest shaft made (1 ¼ inches). I needed a shaft that could reach 2 ½ inches. I found that the clock mechanism has round cylinders that allow the hour and minute hands to attach so these tubes were designed to fit snugly to the shaft. There are three. One is smallest for the hour hand, it is sized to fit inside the minute hand loose enough to move unimpeded but tight enough that the minute tube supports it. Likewise the minute tube fits within the outer tube loose enough to move but supported by the outer tube. I used a tap inside the outer tube so it screws on tightly to the original shaft. This tube is needed to keep everything straight and true without outside supports. I also included hands and washers that fit on the tubes so the hands can fit on the extensions. All sizes can be changed as needed. The tubes are different lengths to provide clearance for the hands. I used PLA.
