Doing laundry is not something you enjoy. Still, everybody has to do it and unfortunately there isn't a way around it yet. My goal was to enhance this unpleasant task by creating a better solution for hanging clothes which everybody with a cheap 3D printer can make at home. This clothespin not only is printable, but it also has some substantial advantages over a regular one. (To visualize them I included a picture of a purchased clothespin). 1. No metal parts mean that there is no corrosion 2. It doesn't flip over when it isn't holding anything, because its center of gravity is lower than the clothesline 3. It doesn't leave creased spots on the laundry The print method of choice is FDM, because it's very accessible and the printed parts have exactly the right amount of flexibility. I used PLA for my sample, but ABS is an option as well if the printer has an enclosure or is standing in a separate and ventilated room. I've been using and testing the clothespin for a week now and so far it worked perfectly and as intended - no more crumpled areas on my shirts and no falling apart anymore. I am studying at the "Technische Universität Hamburg".
