CO 2 Dragster

The winners prize! A CO2 dragster designed with printing scaffolding in solid works, saved as an STL, and printed using makerbot and glow in the dark PLA is increase the cool factor. This car will race head to head against other student designed and built cars. In this unit students learned about Newton’s laws F=MA and Action reaction concepts, principles of aerodynamics, and design/engineering. They aspire to design the winning dragster using solid works and constructing their vehicles either by printing on a makerbot or more traditionally from a block of wood in the shop. (More kids could print their cars faster if we were to win a printer hint hint ) They will finish this unit in attempt to put up the fastest time in school using a track that measures to the thousandth of a second. The student with the fastest car wins this car as their trophy. ( Yes back to the ole days of racing for pink slips!)
