WARNING: The original clips are metal for a good reason, most cabinets are designed to be hinged and the clips are the only thing keeping the glass from sliding off.

So with the disclaimer, my machine wasn't built that way. There are two recessed screws to remove and you can pick up the top alone. I didn't like the metal clips at all - I felt they didn't hug the glass and side the way I wanted - could be way I built it - but this worked well for me. These are for 1 1/4 inch use - I have 1 inch top with standard glass. I'll try and add a 3/4 or 1 inch if someone would like it.
