Create a self-watering planter that you can place in a coffee mug! Put some soil and a plant in it and place it in a window sill to watch the plant grow. You won't need to water it as often since the space at the bottom will hold extra water. Use it to show off your mugs that you never use.
One model also has a hole to allow for air to travel freely to and from the reservoir. In addition, you can seal one end of a cocktail straw and place it through the hole. Cut the straw flush with the top of the planter and you will know as the straw disappears, it is time to add water!
Note: Should fit a "standard" coffee mug, but may need size adjustment for your mug.
