Made a little collapsible tripod for use with my phone, it uses aluminium tubes with a screw clamp to adjust heigth and seems pretty sturdy. NOT for use with a camera though.
It has three fixed positions for the legs, one of which is basically flat on the ground. Locking mechanism is based on the elasticity of the plastic so results may vary but it works pretty well for me, to adjust the angle you press on the tab on the inside of the leg.
Uses a 6mm screw to attach to whatever mount you want, I made my own with Quadlock's mount. Will publish that too as soon as I print it.
You will need some hardware:
- 10mm and 8mm od aluminium tubing.
I used three sections each, 15cm long for the 10mm, 20cm long for the 8mm. Find the length you like the most, I used scraps I had around but I would've gone 20cm on both if I could've.
- 3x 15mm M4 screws, round dome head , for the leg joint. These screw into a smaller hole on the other side and will act as self tapping.
- 3x 20mm M4 sc
