My grandchildren have a special room where they can enjoy their creativity with Lego bricks (Do not go in there bare feet! ;-) )
I wanted to test how it would look when i design a sign for the entrance door with multiple colours and only having one extruder head on my 3D printer.
The result looks IMO good.
In the gcode the colorchanges are defined. When you slice the stl yourself you need to make a colour change at 1, 2 and 3 mm. Print with 0.2 mm layer height. Each color is 5 layers thick, the last one 6 layers, to insure the white on top of black is clear.
In short I used:
Red 1 mm is the basis
yellow 2 = 1 mm above red
black 3 = 2 mm above red
white 4 = 3 mm above red
I have 2 stl uploaded one in english: “Workshop” and one in german “Werkstatt”.
I also provided the Fusion 360 file, for those who want to experiment themselves.
