Compact PCB drill press

The unit uses a 36 mm OD DC motor salvaged from an inkjet printer, equipped with a 3 mm shaft and a standard off‑the‑shelf drill chuck. The motor assembly travels along a 2040 extruded aluminum V‑slot profile and is returned to its upper position by a tension spring. The design is intentionally minimalistic; all alignment and travel adjustments are performed by repositioning the fasteners within the profile slots. A limit switch disconnects the motor when the carriage reaches the upper end of its travel. The system is powered by a 24 V DC supply taken from the same printer. A clip‑mounted control module houses the motor speed controller, an LED work‑light switch, and an LED status indicator. The spindle speed reaches approximately 10 000 RPM. All printed components are manufactured from PET‑G.
