As for the springy hold-down bracket (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6913228), this thing provides brackets to hold objects to a surface, like a shelf, desk, or project board, without any changes, such as the addition of screw holes, to the object itself. Instead of stretched springs, this one uses a compressible pad that should be printed in a soft material like TPU. The pad rests on the object, between the object and the bracket. Compressing the pad provides a hold-down force for the object. The legs or sides of the bracket are increased by the thickness of the pad, minus a little for compression. A cadquery python file is provided so that you can create brackets of any size. The springy version doesn't work very well for very low object heights or if you use a material that isn't somewhat flexible to prevent breakage of the spring.
