The aim of the game is to form a line of four of your own game pieces in a straight line, be it horizontally, vertically, diagonally or even in the third dimension (i.e. diagonally up or down through the levels). The line can be straight or curved as long as it is unbroken.

The player who forms such a line first wins the game. If all squares on the game board are occupied and no player could form a line of four, the game ends in a draw.

Another variant is that all game pieces are used and at the end it is counted who has the most.
