I have successfully printed these connector screws with PLA. I do recommend printing with the finest layer high as your 3D printer can print. The screws can print successfully vertically but you'll need supports. However, if your project has to be heavy-duty or is going to be under compression or tension forces, I heavily recommend printing at a 45° angle. I've included a support model to ease the printing at an angle. If printing at an angle you should orient the gap on the female screw to be upwards.
