Design Intention I have always found that models make absorbing information easier and more fun as they allow students to take a hands-on approach to learning the information. This set of constellation model building parts is designed to allow students a way to learn about different constellations in a fun and engaging way. The larger design and simplicity of the pieces make this model ideal for elementary school children who need an introduction to what a constellation is and what different ones exist in the night sky, however these models are still very useful for older kids learning about constellations in science class. The multiple sizes of stars and connector pieces mean this set can be used to create relatively any constellation that appears in the sky so long as enough pieces are printed. In addition to this the small connector extension piece allows for even more flexibility in distancing stars as you can combine multiple extenders. In the photos above I included a sample of STEM task cards that are an excellent way to use the models to challenge students in a classroom. Model Information All connector pieces are 0.25 in thick and are 0.77 in wide when measured at the circle on each end. The Lengths of each size include XS= about 2.5 in S= about 3.5 in M= about 4.75 in L= about 6 in All stars are 1.25 in tall and can have up to 4 different connectors on them at once. The size for each star measured point to point is S= 1.5 in x 1.5 in M= 2.5 in x 2.5 in L= 3.5 in x 3.5 in Printing Instructions When these models are printed none require support and each piece does not take much filament to produce. The settings I have uploaded for them include the number of pieces required to make either the constellation Ursa Major (The Big Dipper) or the constellation Cancer, depending on which printing instruction is chosen (Note the connectors and stars for each constellation are on separate instructions for a total of 4 different instructions). However, keep in mind tha
