This is a parametric design of a cord maker (sometimes associated with the Japanese Kumihimo technique). The default version uses 7 strings.Bonus, but not required: There's a spool to hold the string; this prevents long strings from tangling. Instructions:Preparation:Print the cord disk. (Optionally print 7 spools)Cut 7 strands of string. (Optionally attach the strings to the spools)Align the strings and tie a knot.Pull the knot through the center hole.Distribute the 7 string across the 8 notches… one notch remains free.Braiding:Hold the free notch towards you.Count three to the right. Take that string and place it in the free notch.Rotate the disc so that the free notch is at the bottom again, count to three and place it in the free notch.Repeat.Tips:The tension is a determining factor in the resulting braid: Try to keep it constant. The spools aid in this, as they provide a constant weight.If your string is too thin: Double it up multiple times.
