Another compact design of a corkscrew, with a double-threaded trapezoid spindel (outer diameter = 9 mm / pitch = 6 mm). Function description: When placing the corkscrew on the neck of a bottle, close the locking cap and you can drive the helix-part into the cork, by turning the winged nut in clockwise direction. The winged nut switches automatically in the unlocking position, when the maximum stroke is reached. Now you can pull the cork out of the bottle, by turning the winged nut in clockwise direction too. The radial fixation of the cork is realized by the two thin ribs on the lantern. For releasing the cork out of the lantern, you have to turn back the open locking cap with the winged nut in counterclockwise direction, until the maximum stroke is reached again. With an axial pushing of the complete spindle assembly you can press the cork out of the lantern. A final counterclockwise turning - while holding tight the cork with your fingers - release the cork out of the helix-part. Note: A full functional assembly, but without play in the movement thread. The thread in the winged nut is created as a "Cut Out" in the sub assembly. Alternative fastening methods of the helix-part in the threaded spindle are possible. In my design you can exchange every component in the assembly of the "threaded spindle". In the model tree the placement of the components are shown in the right order, as they are really assembled. The helix-part can be made of sheet metal - as shown - with embossed rounded edges. For low friction the helix-part can be coated with "PTFE". An animation done by a specialized member of "GrabCAD" would be pretty.
