COMMUNICATORThe Communicator is unnaturally tall and skeletal, wrapped in layered vestments that hang like heavy veils from a body far too motionless to be human. Those who stand beside him in the line whisper that he is not a man at all, but something reshaped by Providence. His bones give a faint, ringing tremor when he moves, as if hollowed for a purpose no earthly surgeon could explain. His face is hidden beneath a crude half-mask of dark steel, from under which spill long, uneven moustaches
