I made a very simple add-on to my printer which allowed me to temporarily convert my 3D printer to a plotter without having to unmount anything from the print head.
I spent more time on discovering these new capabilities of my 3D printer than on optimizing the part, *so feel free to remix and improve!*
The big advantage of this sloppy rubber-band approach is that the flexibility in the bands allows for unevenness of the print surface as well as prevents the whole thing snapping while homing. This also leaves the Z-probe working which enables printing on thicker materials (wood, leather, a book or the back of your laptop).
I started with fixating it with painterstape too but that proved not to be required. Also make sure you empty the extruder **BEFORE you start**. The printer firmware should prevent you from cold-extruding but better make sure. On creality printers (at least the Ender 3) the cooling fan in the electronics is coupled with the part-cooling fan. So make sure you
