I designed this filament runout sensor for my CR-10, but it will fit any printer that uses the same style extruder, creality even still makes printers using this style of extruder. There are plenty of options for universal runout sensors but I wanted to make the waste filament as short as possible, so why not make the sensor a part of the extruder?
In order to use this you will likely need to convert your printer to direct drive, this is pretty easy and can likely be done for free. Just search thingiverse for "[your printer] direct drive" and print whatever bracket looks good to you, you might need to extend the extruder cable, I did on my original CR-10.
Another requirement for installation is somewhere to plug the sensor into. If you're using an older printer with no spare headers, and you have an ABL sensor installed, you'll have to either get a new main board, or run octoprint and hook the sensor into your pi.
Materials needed:
1x printer converted to direct drive
1x Lim
