In fact there is nothing special, it is just a mix of the Dactyl-Manuform and Ergodox ideas, with a spoonful of Let's Split added.
(PS. Wrong, it is a truckload of goodies from Let's Split. The electronic part is actually taken completely from that board, the wiring, the serial connection of two chips, the firmware, and the very idea of a slim compact split keyboard of course. I do have that board, and the only thing I found missing was the thumb cluster. So one may consider my version as a remix of Let's Split.)

From Dactyl-Manuform I accepted the relative position of the columns, that the pinky should be almost half-row lower than the index finger while middle and ring fingers - about 3/4th and 1/2nd higher. Also the experience with its thumb cluster allowed to leave four switches in there, plus two keys for the modifiers in the middle and the ring finger columns. That is this is the minimal but sufficient
