These are very handy if you find yourself installing crown molding alone without anyone to help hold the longer pieces. I had purchased a set of these but they were kind of flimsy and ended up breaking after a while. I designed these to be more heavy duty, and so far they have been great. They are very easy to use. Simply drive a drywall nail\screw or something similar sized into the wall approximately 1" from the ceiling with about 3/8" between the wall and the fastener head. Then hook the hanger onto the fastener. you don't want it to be tight. If you are installing 8' crown, you can get by with two hangers. Around 12' lengths you need 3 and for 16' pieces I would use 4. After you have all of the hangers up, set the crown on them and start nailing it up. Just slide each hanger out as you start nailing up the crown and the nail that held it up just stays up there.
