20/1/2019: Updated with thicker links. Some people had complained that the links were fragile and broke on assembly. My cable chain had performed flawlessly for three years, but I decided to update this anyway.
Cable chain to prevent X-Axis motor/limit switch cable wear.
1. Print 12 of the Link part, one FrameEnd part and one MotorEnd part.
2. Assemble the links by pushing together on a flat surface and they will snap securely into place. Don't attach the link chain to either of the End parts initially.
3. Feed the cables through the FrameEnd part first, then through the 12 Links and finally through the MotorEnd.
4. Feed a cable tie round the cables and through the two holes in the bottom of the MotorEnd, but don't tighten yet.
5. Attach the cables to the motor and limit switch.
6. Attach the MotorEnd to the motor mount as shown in the photo; you may need longer bolts than the originals for this.
7. Pull the cables gently back through the MotorEnd and tighten the cable tie.
