I tried to design something new and something that would still meet the technical requirements given in the Challenge. I would use Al powder with selective laser sintering. Aluminium is suitable because it is light, it is excelent thermal conductor, low outgassing and it can handle higher temperature fluctuation than plastics. The frame should be colored black in order to maximize radiation emissivity. Because Al is good conductor it transfers heat from PCB through frame holders to outside surface. The frame has design which uses 3D printing process strengths (hollow rails which reinforce the frame). It is made from two parts which can be at the same time PCB and solar cells holders. PCB holders can be made for each Cubesat differently because we use AM process. It has also space made for scope or camera or other sensors.
