Description:
“Conformism” pictures the journey through modern life as it strips away your unique, personal, creative details and molds your image into a singular, abstract version of your former self. It shows a path formed by hard, programmed and preset calculations, transforming your raw personality into numbers and data that it uses to manipulate and mold your portrait into a predefined image. Much of the way that society is run today tries to control and standardize our lives, stripping away the creativity that we all start with. I see this piece as dialogue and as a visual representation that shows how we can all lose touch with ourselves, and become confined to a certain “normal” image, one that becomes easy to hide behind, monotonous, and identical to everyone else.
