Originally I carved up a Styrofoam cup to make a phone stand. When I got my 3D printer I had a go at modelling it in tinkercad.
What I like about this stand is that you can keep the phone charger plugged in for both portrait or landscape mode.
I've tested with a tablet and it worked well too.
