Recently, I purchased self-rolling shades, but not for their intended purpose; instead, I use them to protect my workspace from shavings. During operations like drilling, milling, or lathe machining, a lot of shavings are produced. Normally, I use makeshift methods such as cardboard to cover the work area. However, after working, the entire wall with tools ends up covered in fine dust that takes a long time to clean. I installed the shades under the shelf next to the lighting, making custom mounts for this purpose. The shades automatically roll into compact rolls about 1 inch in diameter, which helps keep my already crowded workbench area uncluttered. The video showcasing the use of the shades briefly shows the shades themselves. However, on a simple part, it vividly demonstrates how much shavings are produced during the fabrication process. I needed this part for my mini-lathe upgrade project. Still, the video is not so much about the part itself as it is about the problem of shavings
