I couldn't find a good base for my lithophane so I designed one. This one is sized for my lithophane which was generated from what I think is a 4x6 photo.
I used the lithophane generator at [3dp.rocks](https://3dp.rocks/lithophane/).
I set the max size to 150mm thickness to 4mm and has a 4mm border. Curved obviously.
To make the base, I just used 8mm COB USB LED strip with some connectors to connect the individual strips together. I hacked up an old USB cable to supply the power. I used a SPST (single-pole single-throw) switch to control the light while leaving the base plugged in. Low temp hot glue was used liberally to keep everything in organized chaos. Not winning any presentation awards here.
**Tips:**
- Use as small of a layer height that you can get away with
- No bigger than a 0.4mm nozzle
- Go slow
- Print vertically for curved lithophanes and constrain the printer to stay within the part when moving
