Attached is a SolidWorks part file for a custom hex driver; use it to grip nuts or hex bolts. A ball-shaped handle allows for easy gripping. Simply change the size of the hex cavity at the bottom of the tool to fit whatever hardware you are trying to grip it with. You can do this by changing the value of the global variable named "hex_width". This variable drives both the hex size and the wall thickness around it. The loft that connects the ball handle with the hex cavity is driven by multiple circular cross sections whose diameter and spacing can be easily changed to fit your liking. Printing it upright with the handle on the printer bed means the only support needed is where the handle touches the bed. We found printing it with a brim or raft can help keep it attached to the bed, which was an issue for some of the prints due to the small surface area contact. For post-processing, we sanded the end of the ball-handle with sandpaper to smooth the area that had supports. I hope someone else finds this helpful! John L.
