Custom Lithophane Lampshade for IKEA Barlast - TUTORIAL

✨Custom Lithophane Lampshade for IKEA Barlast Description: This project lets you 3D print a customizable lithophane lampshade, which reveals beautiful images when the light is turned on! The kit includes a circular base designed to snap onto the IKEA Barlast lamp, and you can also print optional decorative 3D models to glue onto the base. The lampshade fits the IKEA Barlast model, available as a table lamp (~3 €) or floor lamp (~7 €). Simply replace the original shade with your custom one. You can generate your lithophane using https://3dp.rocks/lithophane/ by uploading your photo(s) and using my parameters (see images) to export the STL file. I created a lampshade using two cat images (named Socrate) and added small printed cats on the base. You can use those or upload your own photos and 3D models. 📅 Instructions: 📷 Choose two or more images for the lampshade. I recommend creating a single image file using Paint or any design tool. ↓ Add a lower border to your image: the site generates fixed-height STL files, so you can trim the bottom in your slicer later to reduce height. 🔸 Visit https://3dp.rocks/lithophane/ and upload your image. Apply the parameters shown in my screenshots for Barlast compatibility. 📁 Download the customized STL file. 🤞 Open the provided print project, which includes several plates: example lithophane lampshade, base, decorative cats, and a "custom" plate to add holes for your unique design. 🌐 Place your STL in the custom plate and align it with the guide circle. ❌ Add your model to "custom Assembly" and delete mounting holes for the lithophane lampshade to auto-generate the correct holes. ✨ Assemble the IKEA Barlast lamp using your printed lampshade and base. Insert the mounting clips from above and finish by adding the bulb. 🌟 Print Tips: Use white PLA or ice white PLA. Ice white has less contrast but a softer glow.
