After searching for a reasonably priced vertical dock solution for a long time, I decided to make use of the existing dongles for a macbook my wife uses. The result of this experiment is this dock which should allow for more space on her desk, better looking work area, almost same docking/undocking time as compared to her previous setup without anything.
Next Improvement Ideas: Make the dock part more stable to allow one handed docking/undocking operation.
Ignore the poor paintjob, still working on that skill!
Thingiverse requires an obj/stl file to publish the thing.
I would suggest using the 3MF file in your slicer so that you can fit the different parts in the printer, and also select colors for each part if you wish!
