Customizable Ramp Generator

Two rooms had a different floor level with a small step at the door. This proved to be a pain, not only when moving a pushcart or a wheelchair from one room to the other, but also when bumping the toe from time to time.

As this appears to be a common problem, I implemented a generic solution in the form of a ramp generator. Since the ramp cannot be printed as a single piece due to its size, it is modularized. Individual modules can be connected using a connection system.

The necessary thickness of the top surface is estimated automatically based on a simplified structural model.

Note that making a ramp can require lots of filament and therefore can be expensive, about 25 to 35 EUR/m.
