"Wake up, we're here”
These were the first words in the third sequel from The Elder Scrolls game series.
As one of my personal favorites, I wanted to have some game props of my own.
A prerequisite was that it had to be an ORIGINAL game mesh, therefor NO editing was done (except for some alignment pins).
I used the free to download BSA Extractor to extract the dagger mesh from the Morrowind.bsa file
NIFscope was used to convert the .nif into an .obj file
Meshmixer helped me to add some alignment pins for easy assembly.
Even though the dagger is quite large (420mm), it consists of just 4 parts. Printing was never so fast, fun and easy! For a model designed in the very early 2000's it fits surprisingly well in your hands!
Printing instructions:
1: Print the two halves of the handle part. I used 12% infill and 0.2mm resolution
2: Print the two parts of the blade vertically. I used 0% infill, 3 walls, a 4mm brim and supports for the smallest blade part.
