The landing pod rests tilted on fractured landing struts, its hull pocked with plasma burns from the desperate descent. Melted viewports stare blankly at the alien horizon, while interior bulkheads gleam with exposed circuits and cargo bays half-unloaded. Expeditions now shelter within its armored shell, listening for the ping of cooling metal and wondering if the mother ship will ever return for pickup.
