Custom carriage for E3D hotend and Davinci XYZ designed to be used with hardened steel rods and SC8UU bearings.
Features:
- The hotend can easily be swapped out. (for example, when I print in nylon I use 3mm while everything else is 1.75mm)
- There is room under the carriage for many of the preexisting E3D fan ducts.
- The spacers can be used to raise the carriage if needed. Otherwise make sure to use one of these to adjust the z-axis height: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:621440
- The heater block is very exposed. Swapping out different sized nozzles is so easy!
- I included a mounting point for future accessories.
- The PCB can be installed on top of the carriage above the recessed screw hole.
- The carriage movement is extremely smooth and quiet.
To connect the x-axis belt to the carriage: Drill and tap two small holes in the aluminum bearing housing. Secure belt with screws and large washers.
