The original design for the locking parts of the adjustable lamp are awesome. I needed some extra bits in order to assemble this into the lamp I wanted to actually build. The snap-together pieces had no strength and kept snapping apart while trying to put things together. I replaced them with some M5 screws that fit nice and tight, and only need to be hand-tightened since the locking mechanisms just need to be held together closely, but not super cinched in order to be strong. It's still relatively easy to adjust to where I want to point the light.
I added a threaded socket for the size bulb I was using, as well as a mounting part for attaching the bulb itself. It made it so the bulb can be screwed in and out if needing replacement later on.
I also created a base that can house the electronics needed and be screwed down through the same holes as the original base attachment part. I didn't want to attach this to my desk or wall permanently so I sent some M3 screws through the part
