DC-X started as an SDIO project to be a prototype, subscale operations test vehicle, for an eventual fully reusable vertical takeoff, vertical landing (VTVL) Single Stage To Orbit vehicle. After the flight 5 'mishap' it was transferred to NASA to become DC-XA. DC-X/DC-XA flew 12 times and successfully landed 12 times. On the 12th flight one gear did not deploy and after engines shut down it fell over and was consumed in fire. For those of us that have a hard time painting small details I have designed this for the small black pieces to snap into the white body. The DC-X body consists of two white parts; the main body and the bottom being the heat shield and landing gear. The bottom should be printed upside down so the gear and engine nozzles print without supports. The separate black parts are the flaps, mechanical doors and the even numbered air strakes.
