The Death Dragon Crypt Defender is a striking choice for an FDM project. Printing highly detailed dragon miniatures on a filament printer requires a careful balance between cooling, speed, and support placement to ensure those scales and horns remain sharp. The model has supreme details that come out particularly well with large dimension prints. i separated the top and bottom part for ease of print and assembly, having added 2 pins to align the 2 half models once completed, for simplicity. Support Overhang Threshold: Set this to roughly 25° to ensure the underbelly and wings are caught without over-supporting the entire body. Z-Distance: Maintain a top interface gap of about 0.2mm (or roughly one layer height) to ensure the supports break away cleanly without fusing to the dragon’s skin. Material & Finish The "Death Dragon Crypt Defender" aesthetic works exceptionally well with Matte PLA or PETG.
